Home Decor Row at University Drive Press Conference
The City of Lauderhill in conjunction with the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to unveil the new ‘HOME DECOR ROW at University Drive!’
Lauderhill’s Mayor, Richard J. Kaplan, the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the City’s Community Development Department, have branded a region around University Drive and Commercial Boulevard, as a Home Furnishing and Furniture District – to be called the “Home Décor Row at University Drive.”
The initiators of the Row created a logo for the Home Décor Row (HDR) and plan to display it on brochures, street corner banners, window stickers for participating retailers, and the HDR web site (www.homedecorrow.com .
The proximity of businesses such as Carl’s Furniture, Bowery Lighting, and Babies-R-Us is convenient to those looking to furnish or decorate a home. Retailers like Radio Shack, Target, and Office Max help consumers furnish home offices with anything from desks and chairs to televisions with surround sound. Tate’s Comic Store has art, Petsmart carries kitty condos, and Wood You is great for the do-it yourself shopper! There are several more stores to see.....
The Mayor explains, “The awareness surrounding the Home Décor Row at University Drive should increase traffic to the businesses involved. Subsequently, the businesses adjacent to the home furnishing stores will benefit as well.”
There will be a Press Conference on Thursday, January 27, 2010, at 5 PM at Tijuana Flats (7942 W. Commercial Blvd.) next to the Sears Appliance Store in Lauderhill.
“The Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce is excited about retaining and attracting more home furnishing stores to the Commercial Blvd./University Corridor of the City. We hope this is just the first of more joint promotions to come in the City,” states John Beckford, Executive Director of the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce.
