Notes of Commission Meeting of October 27

On October 27, the City Commission held a regular commission meeting, and the following are notes of interest (all items passed unanimously unless otherwise indicated):

RESOLUTIONS

RESOLUTION NO. 14R-09-224:   APPROVING THE GUIDELINES FOR THE FIRST TIME OFFENDER ADULT NON-VIOLENT MISDEMEANOR DIVERSION PROGRAM (“MDP”); PROVIDING DETAILS AND PARAMETERS OF THE PROGRAM; PROVIDING THAT THE PROGRAM CAN BE DISCONTINUED AT THE CITY’S DISCRETION; (REQUESTED BY COMMISSIONER HAYWARD J. BENSON, JR.).

RESOLUTION NO. 14R-10-236:  APPROVING THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE LAUDERHILL COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (“CRA”) FOR A $128,250.00 REIMBURSEMENT GRANT AWARDED TO THE CRA ON BEHALF OF LALLOS ROTI AWARDED AND PAID BY BROWARD COUNTY.

RESOLUTION NO. 14R-10-237:  APPROVING THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE LAUDERHILL COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (“CRA”) FOR A $150,000.00 REIMBURSEMENT GRANT AWARDED TO THE CRA ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE CENTER AWARDED AND PAID BY BROWARD COUNTY.

RESOLUTION NO. 14R-10-247:  EXPRESSING ITS SUPPORT FOR THE EQUAL PAY ACT OF 1963, THE LILLY LEDBETTER FAIR PAY ACT OF 2009, THE NATIONAL EQUAL PAY ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE CREATED IN 2014 AND OTHER CONTINUED EFFORTS FOR ENSURING PARITY IN PAY FOR WOMEN AND URGING THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS TO PASS LEGISLATION THAT WOULD HELP ACHIEVE THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE LAWS AND INITIATIVES LISTED ABOVE AS FOR OTHER PURPOSES (REQUESTED BY COMMISSIONER M. RESOLUTION NO. 14R-10-245:  GRANTING TO THE OWNER, SG VENTURES I, A SPECIAL EXCEPTION USE DEVELOPMENT ORDER WITH CONDITIONS TO ALLOW  DAY-TIME AND WEEKEND CHILDCARE AND PRE-SCHOOL USES WITH TRANSPORTATION SERVICES  AT 5328 - 5336 NORTH UNIVERSITY DRIVE, LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA.
